What is HardWear?
Well, it's jewelry. What makes it HardWear is that it's jewelry made entirely out of things you find at the hardware store. Clever, ain't it? The "jewels" and "beads" in this line of baubles are nuts of various shapes and sizes, washers of every size and color, and even metal tubes... There's more to that list, I assure you. Pendants are wrenches and sockets. The string isn't just string, but mason twine and wire. This isn't your mom's jewelry, folks. HardWear is for men and women who need sturdier shiny stuff. Wear it hard and make it HardWear.

How it started...I was in the hardware store with my dad one day and realized that certain bits of hardware are pretty and shiny. That's really how it all started. I've been making macrame bracelets and the like with mason twine since I was little, so I put the two together. It's also partially because I'm a little bit of a gear head, I like the rockabilly style, and I love drag racing and the associated culture. I'm also partial to all sorts of arts 'n' crafts, so throw all that in a bag, shake well, and poof! HardWear is born.

Who is this Lindsey person anyway?I'm the one who thinks up this crazy stuff. I went to school for welding and I drive a front engine nostalgia dragster. The car I drive is a 1972 Shoemaker chassis. It has a 383 small block chevy engine, 4 barrel Holley 650 double pumper carb, and it runs 9.60 seconds (in the Nostalgia Eliminator III class) at 135 m.p.h. on race gas. My dad is my crew chief and car owner, but I do the tuning. I've won two March Meets (2009 & 2012) and 8 championships (NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series: 2008, 2009, & 2011 / ANRA: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012). Hopefully my luck holds out and I keep getting trophies. I got into racing very young. My grandfather was pit crew for a car in the '60s and my dad has been pit crew for friends of ours for 30 years or so. (Yes, he's an old fart. Hi, dad!) I started racing when I was 10 years old in a jr. dragster and have been running my current car for 8 years now. The jewelry I make is geared toward the gear head (and their pets) and I hope it's something that everyone enjoys as much as I enjoy making it.
